St. John Paul II, Montana

St. John Paul II, Montana

Our parish has had it’s sights set for an Image of the Divine Mercy since we combined 2 small parishes and built the first church in the world to be named for Pope John Paul II, whose title then changed to "Blessed John Paul” and is now "St John Paul II“ in Bigfork, Montana in 2005.

We chose the Skemp image because it is the version where the rays stream out of Jesus’ Sacred Heart  towards the viewer as St Faustina described  her vision  but any of the approved images would have been loved and  welcomed. As Jesus told Sr Faustina when she was disappointed in the 1st artist’s depiction in the first painting: “It is not the beauty of the color or in the artist’s ability but in My "Grace that is the greatness of this Image.“ Thank you mercyimages.com for offering the canvas only option making it possible to easily ship and then stretch it for our parishioner-made, gold leafed frame.
